Pontiac Kidney Walk returning for its 5th year this Sunday

The 5th annual Pontiac Kidney Walk will be taking place at the Shawville fairgrounds this Sunday September 24, bringing together members of the community to raise money for the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

CHIP 101.9 spoke with organizer Randy Russell to discuss this year’s event. He said that they set their goal at $8,000 for this year, and have already raised around $7,000. The festivities will get underway on Sunday at noon, with the walk starting at 1 p.m.

Russell also explained that his involvement in the cause is personal, as his family has a history of kidney disease. He recently celebrated his sixth “kidney-versary”, as he received a transplant from his wife Francine back in 2017.
