Pontiac Cup 3v3 tournament returning to Fort-Coulonge for 11th year
The 11th edition of the Pontiac Cup 3v3 hockey tournament will take place at the Centre de Loisirs des Draveurs Century 21 Élite in Fort-Coulonge this weekend (April 12-14). The founders of the tournament, cousins Joel and Danick Boisvert, stopped by CHIP 101.9’s studio to talk about this longstanding community event. There will be more than 20 teams competing across three divisions this year.
Danick explained that the tournament started out as a high school project and eventually evolved into a big fundraiser for the Fort-Coulonge arena. He estimated that they’ve raised more than $100,000 over the years for the local rink.
Joel said that there will be plenty to do off the ice as well, with Upstream Dave and DJ Martin Leguerrier playing Friday night, as well as DJs Paul Leblanc and Dan D-Noy performing Saturday.
The full interview with Danick and Joel Boisvert (4m45) is available here.
