Pontiac Comets Relocate from Fort-Coulonge to Shawville
The Pontiac Senior Comets, who have long played their home games at the Fort-Coulonge arena, are moving to a new location. After several weeks of discussions, the team—part of the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League—has announced it will remain within the Pontiac MRC and begin playing next season at the Shawville arena.
In a statement shared on their Facebook page, which opened in English, the team addressed fans, sponsors, and the wider Fort-Coulonge community:
“The Pontiac Senior Comets organization would like to express our deep gratitude for your unwavering support over the years. Fort-Coulonge has been more than just our home—it has been the foundation of unforgettable seasons, passionate crowds, and a true sense of community. We officially announce that the team has been sold to a new ownership group. This transition marks an important milestone for the organization and, while change is never easy, we remain optimistic about what lies ahead.”
According to information obtained by CHIP 101.9, the sale of the team and its relocation to Shawville is largely a formality at this stage. Among the new owners is Darcy Findlay, a former player and coach with the organization.
Further details are expected to follow.
