The Pontiac Comets won their last regular season game yesterday at home (Fort-Coulonge) against the Maniwaki Forestiers. The day before, the team had lost 8-0 against against the Forestiers on the road. This time, the Comets won 8-2, the Forestiers had to forfeit the game as the their two goaltenders were injured.

The Comets Coach Jean-François Lavergne was happy to have achieved one of the objectives the team had set out for itself at the beginning of the year, namely to finish first in the rankings:

The playoffs will begin on Saturday where the Comets will face the Mont-Tremblant Diables, who finished 4th in the standings (bottom). The Pontiac Native Comets player Stéphane Paré, who scored a goal yesterday, reflected on the preparation needed before the playoffs.

The Comets will therefore play two home games, this upcoming Saturday and Sunday and thereafter they will be in Mont-Tremblant for the 3 out of 5 game series. The other series will oppose the Mont-Laurier Montagnards and the Maniwaki Forestiers.
