The Pontiac Chamber of Commerce held its Black Tie Gala on Saturday (February 18) at the Pontiac Conference Center in Fort-Coulonge, bringing together nearly 150 people from business, politics and various Pontiac organizations. Chamber of Commerce President Sébastien Bonnerot expressed his satisfaction following the event and said he hopes that local businesspeople will have the chance to network again in the future.

“If we have been meeting for a year, to try to update a plan that would allow us to relaunch our activities. It was almost impossible in a pandemic,” he said (translated). “Networking, which is our main activity, suffered a lot during the pandemic. Like just about everyone, our merchants have suffered and we’ve been on the drawing board for a few months trying to figure out how to do an event like this to bring people physically together, then also have a little fun.”

Under the theme of resilience and economic recovery following the pandemic, attendees had the chance to have a look at the chamber’s new logo, as well as their new website.

“Our website, listen, it has been a work in progress, since about last summer,” he said (translated). “With a new consultant, who is a member of the Chamber of Commerce with us, this tool will allow us to keep in touch with you, members, with merchants and to announce our activities, training activities, networking activities, so it’s major for us we were super happy to be able to unveil it with you here this evening.”

The Pontiac Chamber of Commerce also thanked the members who have been involved in recent years. The board of directors of the Pontiac Chamber of Commerce is made up of Sébastien Bonnerot (president), Todd Hoffman (vice-president), Mireille Alary, Rhonda Morrison, Ronald MacKillop, Guillaume Lavoie-Harvey and Patrick Lasalle.
