Police chase in Bryson leads to arrest
Shortly before 1 am last Saturday, September 14th, the Sûreté du Québec police officers from the MRC Pontiac were traveling on highway 148 in the Bryson area when they had to brake suddenly and make a move to avoid a collision with a vehicle turning on Highway 148, at Wilson Road, without doing the mandatory stop. The driver refused to stop, and a short chase began on highway 148 heading west. The driver of the vehicle entered the yard of his residence and hit a tree. The driver then fled on foot into the woods where police later apprehended the suspect.
The 30-year-old Clarendon man remained in detention and appeared in court today, Monday September 16th, at the Courthouse in Gatineau. He could be facing charges of driving under the influence, evasion, refusal and reckless driving.
