About 50 reservists of the Hull Regiment took part in a winter survival operation at the Shawville arena, and surrounding area, on January 25 and 26. During the days of training, the soldiers used various materials, including arctic tents, to practice navigation, camouflage and winter survival. The population was welcome to observe the soldiers as well as the military convoy vehicles.
Note that certain measures were taken to minimize the impact on people and the environment. This training aimed to prepare the reservists for an upcoming validation operation in February at the Valcartier base outside of Québec City (Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier).
