Perseverance Days (JPS) is back across the province and runs from February 12-16. The slogan for 2018 is “Your actions are a plus for their success”. The campaign aims to demonstrate what the community can do to make a difference in the educational success of a youth.

The director of the Table Éducation Outaouais, Pierre Boucher, talks about the importance of encouraging school perseverance within schools in our region.

The Table Éducation Outaouais (TÉO) is taking advantage of the School Perseverance Week to announce the creation of a new contest, the Impact Persévérance Scolaire (IPS) Denis-Dugal. The IPS Denis-Dugal Award will be awarded annually to the most outstanding project in the region among the projects supported by the TÉO. In addition, the recipients will see their funding renewed automatically, and a $ 1,000 grant will be awarded to improve the project. This year, the TÉO presented the IPS Denis-Dugal Award to the “La Friperie Koudon” project, created in partnership with the Carrefour jeunesse emploi of the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau and the Cité Étudiante de Haute-Gatineau. This project is being used as a model of innovation and an excellent vehicle to turn the passions of young people into concrete achievements leading to their success.

École secondaire Sieur de Coulonge launched the DESSINE TA PERSÉVÉRANCE contest in the same vein, in partnership with Carrefour Jeunesse-emploi du Pontiac. Students drew their vision of school perseverance. The drawings will be posted so that high school students and the school staff can vote for their favorite drawing.
