Permanent lighting of the Marchand bridge: reconnaissance visits have started

13 September 2021 à 12:00 am

Initial visits to the Felix-Gabriel-Marchand bridge in Mansfield have begun, with the goal of installing permanent lighting to the structure. Even though the work is not finished, the artistic and multimedia innovation director at the company Novom Interactive, Alain Dubé, went to the bridge to get to know the place. He was also able to see the new surface that was installed on the bridge.

We walked on this beautiful hemlock floor, which is almost finished. I can tell you that I was so impressed with the quality work, the gigantic nature of the thing. It’s a 544-foot bridge, it’s beautiful to see that. We see the complexity of this work there, when we start to replace parts or in the selection of wood
– Alain Dubé (translated)

A third of the equipment that will be used to light the bridge has already arrived on site. The lighting concept of the Marchand bridge is largely based on a mobile app that will allow visitors to take control of the lighting for a few minutes.

The lighting project on the Félix-Gabriel-Marchand bridge is an initiative of the Phare Ouest organization, with the help of several businesses and organizations.
