Papiers White Birch temporarily ceases operations
The Papiers White Birch plant, located in Masson, must temporarily cease operations from August 28 to September 21, 2020, due to the slow resumption of economic activities for its customers and partners combined with the resurgence of COVID-19 in several international markets.
“This decision was not made; it has imposed itself considering the current context and the structural issues. Although it is beyond our control, this situation saddens us greatly. While remaining aware of the impact this disruption of activities has on our workers, we will take all the measures at our disposal to limit the consequences. We would also like to thank all of our employees and our union partners for their understanding and openness during this more demanding period, ”said Papiers White Birch general manager Sylvain Filion, in a press release issued on the 25th of august.
