Over $640,000 to improve off-road vehicle safety in Outaouais
The Goverment of Québec as announced $640,767 in new funding for four Quad cluds and five snowmobile clubs in the Outaouais region to support them and to allow them to improve safety practices. In the Pontiac, Club Quad du Pontiac will receive $46,154, l’Association des motoneigistes de Pontiac inc. is be getting $132, 313 and the Club motoneige Pingouins will get $93, 009. The new funds will allow the clubs to maintain and improve their trails, ensuring their quality and their appeal to riders, while respecting the environment.
”I’d like to thank every person that invests in contributing to bettering their community. Through this commitment, they actively participate in the economic vitality of our region,” says Mathieu Lacombe, ministre de la Famille, ministre responsable de la région de l’Outaouais and député de Papineau. ”I’d like to congratulate Mr. Bisson and Mr. Tremblay for their commitment to their community. I am also very pleased with the financial assistance announced for the Outaouais region, which will allow many off-road vehicle enthusiasts to pursue their passion on safe and attractive trails.”
Plus, on December 18, 2021, the twelfth volunteer acknowledgement prize for off-road vehicles. For the occasion, the minister of transportation and minister responsible for the Estrie region, François Bonnardel highlighted the remarkable dedication of 30 ATV and Snowmobile volunteers across Québec.
” I’d like to thank all of the volunteers involved in their clubs, helping to maintain their trails and ensuring the safety of ATV enthusiasts,” Bonnardel says. ”Your work is essential to practice the hobby and I am happy to highlight their implication. Our government in proud to support snowmobile and ATV clubs that contribute to their local economy.”
Minister Bonnardel and the Minister of Families, Minister responsible for the Outaouais region and MNA for Papineau, Mathieu Lacombe congratulated the winners in the Outaouais; Jacques Bisson (snowmobile) and Mr. Clément Tremblay (ATV) for their essential contribution to the maintenance and surveillance of their trails, which ultimately allows their members to enjoy the activities safely.

• As part of the Trail Maintenance component of the Programme d’aide financière aux clubs de motoneigistes du Québec, the sum of $427,861 has been allocated to the following five clubs:

• In 2021, the Government of Quebec granted more than $14 million in financial assistance to the Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec and the Fédération québécoise des clubs quads, as well as to their affiliated clubs.
• The financial assistance is for the Trail Maintenance and Safety and Environment components, and is distributed as follows:
o $6,305,400 under the Quebec All-Terrain Vehicle Financial Assistance Program;
o $7,872,400 under the Financial Assistance Program for Quebec Snowmobile Clubs.
• The Programme d’aide financière aux véhicules tout-terrain du Québec and the Programme d’aide financière aux clubs de motoneigistes du Québec are in effect until March 31, 2022.
• The Off-Road Vehicle Volunteer Recognition Award aims to highlight the work of volunteers who have distinguished themselves through their commitment to their community and through their actions that, carried out within a club or a federation, had a local or regional impact.
• The network of federated trails in Quebec has more than 33,000 kilometers for snowmobiling and more than 25,000 kilometers for mountain biking. The trails are maintained and monitored by some 8,000 volunteers whose commitment represents, according to the federations, nearly 2 million hours per year.
• The economic spinoffs related to snowmobiling and ATVing are estimated at more than $3 billion annually.
