Outdoors Outaouais Roundtable: online directory of outdoor activities in the region

The Outdoors Outaouais Roundtable, organised by Loisir Sport Outaouais, launched its Internet platform last Friday which aims to list the outdoor activities in the region. The outdoor project manager for Loisir Sport Outaouais, Charles-Antoine Rioux, gave more details about the project and its objectives:

The website, www.outaouaispleinair.ca will serve as a tool to showcase the various outdoor activities being offered. Each location being showcased on the website will go through a rigorous inventory process and will be updated regularly. According to Jane Toller of the MRC Pontiac, the platform will help propel the development of tourism in the region:

Some organizations here in the Pontiac took part in launching the website last Friday, including a representative of Aventure Hélianthe, Louis Harvey, who intends to evaluate the possible use of the tool in promoting their activities.

At the moment, the activities listed for the Pontiac are at Ski Pontiac, in the municipality of Bristol and at the Parc des Chutes Coulonge. The organisers are asking people to contact the Outdoors Outaouais Roundtable to add an event, business or activity.
