Outbreak at Pierre-Janet Hospital
The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais has indicated that a unit at the Pierre-Janet Hospital currently has an outbreak of COVID-19. All 12 users of this unit contracted the virus as well as 18 workers. According to the CISSS de l’Outaouais, users are doing well and are still present in the affected unit, which is now a hot zone. Visits to green areas remain possible during the outbreak period.
The CISSS de l’Outaouais specified that the situation is being taken care of in particular by the presence of infection control and prevention teams. The installation teams have stepped up preventive measures, including limiting traffic and increasing teleworking when possible. A voluntary expanded screening of all Pierre-Janet Hospital employees is currently underway in order to have a clearer picture of the current epidemiological situation. The work done is the result of strong collaboration between the teams in place.
The CISSS de l’Outaouais says it takes this outbreak seriously, like all outbreaks of COVID-19 in the region, and provides all its support to the teams at the Pierre-Janet Hospital. The CISSS de l’Outaouais thanked all employees and managers for the rapid implementation of the necessary measures.
