Outaouais Climate Summit to Bring Together More Than 250 Participants in Gatineau
The second Outaouais Climate Summit will take place Wednesday, October 21st, at the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO) in Gatineau, bringing together more than 250 participants to discuss solutions to climate change.
Organized by the Outaouais Climate Partnership, the event will feature elected officials, community leaders and other stakeholders working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and accelerate the region’s climate transition.
The program includes conferences, workshops and the announcement of new commitments focused on the energy transition, building decarbonization and sustainable mobility. This year, the summit will also address agri-food issues and citizen engagement, with the launch of a new initiative dedicated to climate mobilization.
The summit comes amid broader setbacks in climate action nationally and internationally, as Quebec prepares to swear in its new government.
Organizers say collaboration among businesses, institutions, community organizations and philanthropic groups is essential to reducing emissions and strengthening communities’ resilience to climate change.
The event begins at 8 a.m. at UQO.
