Otter Lake man arrested for theft and fraud
The police officers of the Sûreté du Québec of the MRC Pontiac station arrested a man on June 26 in connection with a robbery and fraud in an Otter Lake residence. The 38-year-old man from Shawville, who was wanted under three arrest warrants, appeared yesterday at the Gatineau Court House. He could face charges of fraud, theft as well as possession of narcotics.
The investigation shows that the suspect, who knew the victims, was reported to have stolen jewellery and credit cards from a residence on Prince Arthur Street. During his arrest, in addition to retrieving some jewelry and credit cards that were used by the suspect, police seized more than 400 pills whose chemical makeup resembles methamphetamine as well as an amount of money .
