Ottawa Riverkeeper has plans to study in the Pontiac
One of the upcoming projects for the Ottawa Riverkeeper in the Pontiac is a project for the conservation of a marine species; the hickorynut (Scientific name: Obovaria olivaria). Patrick Nadeau:
The organization will have a team in Portage-du-Fort to study this species. Patrick Nadeau said that given the distance of the area and the fact that it is more ”wild” in the Pontiac, some species are doing better here than in the rest of the Outaouais.
