October, Cybersecurity Awareness Month

5 October 2026 à 8:15 am

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. It’s the perfect opportunity to take a few minutes to assess our online habits.

These days, our phones, computers, and online accounts contain a huge amount of personal information. And scammers are constantly looking for new ways to trick us.

Tip #1: Be wary of unexpected messages, even if they appear to come from someone or a company you know. An email or text message asking you to quickly click on a link, confirm your information, or make a payment should always raise a red flag.

Second tip: Use different, hard-to-guess passwords for your important accounts. Whenever possible, enable two-factor authentication as well.

And above all, take the time to update your phone, computer, and apps. These updates often fix security vulnerabilities.

Cybersecurity isn’t just for experts. Each of us can help protect our own information.

So, in October, take a few minutes to check your passwords, security settings, and online habits.

A small step today can save you a lot of trouble tomorrow!
