Obstetrics services; New temporary break announced between November 25th and 26th
Le Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais announced a further break in obstetrics services at the Shawville hospital starting Monday, November 25th at midnight (Sunday night to Monday) until Tuesday, November 26th at 8 pm. Once again, the break in service is caused by a lack of obstetrical nurses.

It was noted that pregnant women in labor will be redirected, after being evaluated at the Pontiac Hospital, to the Gatineau Hospital. In the case of a pregnant woman presenting for imminent delivery, there will be qualified personnel to provide care. The CISSS de l’ Outaouais indicated that expecting mothers affected by this break in service were notified. The CISSS states that the situation is temporary and that the return to normal is scheduled for November 26th at 8 pm.
