Obstetrics: Both the CISSS de l’Outaouais and the MRC municipalities have to do their part

Local elected officials, as much as the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais, will have a role to play in the return of obstetrics in the Pontiac, according to Sandra Armstrong, the spokesperson of Monday’s protest at the Hull hospital.

“Regarding [the difference] in salaries between Québec and Ontario, the municipalities [in the MRC Pontiac] will have to work on resolutions and send them to the government”, said Armstrong, after a closed-door meeting with representatives of the CISSS de l’Outaouais. The CISSS will be in Campbell’s Bay today to meet with the mayors of the MRC Pontiac to work on each proposed solutions.

Although discussions between the CISSS de l’Outaouais and local officials continue, the door remains open for citizens to organize other protests.
