Mireille Alary, the Shawville-based notary with PME INTER-Notaire, is joining up with CHIP 101.9, once again, to offer practical advice on various topics related to notarial law this winter and spring. The objective of these columns is to provide CHIP listeners with Alary’s in-depth and specialized knowledge of notary practices and answer common legal questions related to successions, wills, property laws and many others.

Here is a clip from the first column, broadcast in January 2023:

“The first step is to make a “will search,” whether or not the client has a will, will change the procedure that we are going to have to do. Basically the first step, if you go to the bank or if request the money from the insurance policy, everybody will want to know if there’s a wheel and if it is the last will. once the will search is received, which is about a month approximately, then we need to have a list of the assets and whether there’s real estate involved or just bank accounts or just debts, the procedure will be different.”

– Mireille Alary, Notary of PME INTER Notaires in Shawville
