No strike for Campeau Bus

Last week the drivers of Autobus Campeau voted 91% in favor of the latest employer contract offers. Negotiations between the parties earlier this week helped break the stalemate. Seventy-four workers exercised their right to vote.

The Teamsters Union Local 106 members receive wage increases of 2% for each of the five years of the employment contract. The amount will be increased if the cost of living exceeds 2%.

This vote was crucial in order to avoid a strike today that would have deprived over 6,700 school bus drivers in the Draveurs and Portages-de-l’Outaouais school boards.
