New COVID-19 case reported in Renfrew County circulated in the community
The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) has confirmed that a person who tested positive for COVID-19 has visited the following locations in the past few weeks:
• Walmart (Pembroke): Monday June 22, 2020, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
• Shopper’s Drug Mart (Petawawa): Wednesday June 24, 2020, between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
The health network asks people who have visited one of these places during these periods to monitor their symptoms. If these people develop symptoms, they should self-isolate immediately and contact the Renfrew County Virtual Triage Assessment Center (RCVTAC) at 1-844-727-6404 or RCDHU at 613-735-8654 or at 1-800-267-1097 to make an appointment.
If people who have developed symptoms live on the Quebec side, they can contact the Outaouais public health department at 1-819-644-4545. It is also possible since this week to be tested on request (by appointment only), if one is concerned about exposure to COVID-19.
The unit’s medical officer of health, Dr. Robert Cushman, said, “As we continue to reopen the province, I cannot stress enough that it is everyone’s responsibility to practice physical distance and if you can’t observe the 2 meter rule, wear a mask, ”he recommended.
The RCDHU indicates that the necessary precautions are taken to ensure the safety of the public and that it deals with case management and contacts with appropriate individuals and organizations. All parties involved will receive specific instructions on self-isolation and self-monitoring based on exposure.
