Municipality of Pontiac: Still on alert

Yesterday, Tuesday April 23rd at 3:44 pm, the municipality of Pontiac issued an update on the current flooding status of the municipality on their Facebook page.

According to the municipality; the water levels continue to rise. They remain on high alert and are continuing to monitoring the situation closely. No evacuation order has been issued as of yet, but if this trend continues, evacuations are to be expected. A notice of evacuation will be issued via the municipality’s website, its Facebook page, as well as by members of the Fire Department and Police Services who will be patrolling the affected areas. A media release will also be issued. CHIP 101,9 will be ready to advise the population if necessary.

The municipality of Pontiac ended the post by advising its citizens to ‘stay safe’ and to ‘notify the municipality of any public safety concerns.’
