Two groups in MRC Pontiac have been highlighted as favorites of Loisir Sport Outaouais in 2022. These two initiatives were included in a special report highlighting the development of leisure, sport and outdoors in the Outaouais.

Cultural Leisure Innovation Award: Phare Ouest

“As a project combining cultural leisure and heritage, we award our favorite to Phare Ouest for the illumination of the Félix-Gabriel-Marchand Bridge. Officially inaugurated on May 20 in Mansfield-et-Pontefract, the project is a fine example of innovation in cultural leisure and enhancement of built heritage,” the statement reads (translated). “Many partners have come together to set up this extraordinary project. Since its opening, residents and visitors can observe the red bridge at night and control the lights and their colors using a mobile application.
A great activity to do the next time you take the 148!”

Recreation Committee of the Year: Municipality of Bryson

“It is the Municipality of Bryson that we have chosen as the recreation committee of the year! Meghan Griffin and her team have taken giant steps in 2022,” the statement reads (translated). “In particular, they carried out a survey to understand the needs of citizens in terms of the layout of public spaces. They organized a big party for the new year, an activity that attracted more than a hundred people, as well as set up a committee to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the municipality. They also went into overdrive to organize an exceptional winter carnival! Thank you for everything you do to animate your community!”
