Municipal election update: Pierre Jolicoeur elected by acclamation in Calumet

On the deadline for submissions of candidates, another councillor in L’Île-du-Grand-Calumet was elected without opposition. Pierre Jolicoeur became the councillor for seat 3 after Mélanie Dumouchel withdrew her candidacy. Jolicoeur joins Aurel Paquette and Louise Grenier, who were also elected by acclamation.

The mayor’s seat and council seats 4, 5 and 6 are all contested:

Mayor: Jean-Louis Corriveau (former mayor) , Pierre Féchette (former mayor)

Councillor (4) : Alice Meilleur Pieschke (outgoing from this post), Rollande Normandeau, Mona Donnelly (outgoing from another post)

Councillor (5) : Réjean F. J. Meilleur (outgoing from this post), Guylaine La Salle

Councillor (6) : Elie James Azola Moankong (outgoing from this post), Adrienne Turgeon
