MRC’s finance and admin director leaving after 19 years
MRC Pontiac’s Finance and Administration Director Annie Vaillancourt is departing after 19 years of service with the organization, effective May 23. She made the announcement to staff and elected officials in an email on Tuesday last week (April 29).
Speaking Monday, Vaillancourt said that she initially started in the office working in economic development for around four years before moving to finance. She explained that her current role covers quite a bit of territory, from budget discussions to managing the front desk workers, to IT equipment.
Vaillancourt said that she would be moving to the role of treasurer and deputy CAO with the Township of Laurentian Valley, just outside Pembroke Ont. She said that on top of a shorter commute, she was looking for change and new challenges.
Vaillancourt finished by saying that while it’s hard to point to one project or file to highlight, she was proud of the growth that the MRC has seen over her time with the organization.
MRC DG Kim Lesage thanked Vaillancourt for her contributions over nearly two decades.
“After 19 years with the MRC Pontiac, Annie is taking off for a new professional adventure,” she wrote in a statement. “I’ve had the good fortune to work with her for 7 wonderful years, and I can say that she has been a committed colleague, always ready to help, and with an unparalleled sense of hard work. She will certainly leave a void, both professionally and personally. On behalf of myself and the employees of the MRC Pontiac, I wish her every success in the new professional phase that lies ahead!”
MRC communications staff stated that the posting for the job will be published in the coming weeks.
