MRC Pontiac: the meeting of the mayors for April
The meeting held monthly by the mayors of the MRC Pontiac was last night. There, about twenty people attended and the meeting started with the Mayor of Sheenboro, Doris Ranger, who spoke a few words about the life and career of the late Dr. Wilbert Keon, a native of her municipality. The Council of Mayors also collectively made a resolution to send a message of condolence to the Keon family.
Territorial Development Fund (FDT)
Following the recommendations of the FDT’s Infrastructure Analyse Committee, the Council of Mayors will be providing funding ($ 200,000) to the following projects:

Temporary suspension of incompatible mining territories
The Council of Mayors of the MRC have submitted an application for a temporary suspension for specific incompatible territories for mining, as indicated by the Quebec Department of Energy and Natural Resources, who say that no new exploration of the kind can be conducted in these sectors. The MRC Pontiac also plans to consult the various partners involved in order to reach the final version of the territories that are incompatible for mining.
