MRC Pontiac seeking rooms for rent as part of cohabitation program
MRC Pontiac is looking for residents of the region who have a room to spare in an effort to find temporary accommodation for professionals looking to move to the area.
Rachel Soar-Flandé, a housing agent with the MRC’s economic development department, explained that given the demand for labour in Pontiac’s health and education facilities, combined with a limited amount of available housing, they wanted to be more proactive in attracting and retaining new residents. She said that they would be compiling directory of people with spare rooms or temporary space available for rent in all corners of the region.
The program is a collaboration with the Carrefour jeunesse-emploi du Pontiac, as their Place aux Jeunes program aims to attract young professionals to the Pontiac and support their integration into the community.
