MRC Pontiac seeking new economic development director
After hiring Guillaume Boudreau in November of last year, MRC Pontiac is once again looking for an economic development director, posting a job offer to their website December 14. This position in particular has been a difficult one for the organization to keep occupied, as Boudreau is the fifth director to leave the department in the last seven years:
Cyndy Phillips held the role from February 2020 to May 2022. She took over from Danielle Newman, who departed in January 2020. Émilie Chazelas, who held the position before Newman, resigned from the post in May 2018. She took over from Marc Fortin, who left the post in November 2016.

Duties
– Create and maintain business relationships with ministries, organizations and institutions as well as local and regional partners while ensuring a close link with all of our municipalities;
– Supervise research and studies to assess the region’s economic development potential and opportunities, as well as market trends;
– Develop and implement support programs (financial and technical) and be on the lookout for any program or subsidy that could enable the development and implementation of full-time executive projects, 37.5 hours per week;
Compensation
– Annual salary between $86,374 and $113,662 depending on the candidate’s experience;
– Annual vacation;
– 12 days of sick leave and 15 public holidays;
– Insurance and group RRSPs.
