MRC Pontiac launches Municipalité Amie des aînés Policy

1 October 2026 à 3:18 pm

On National Seniors Day, the MRC Pontiac officially launched its Municipalité Amie des aînés (MADA) Policy and 2026-2030 Action Plan. These two frameworks will guide initiatives aimed at creating a more inclusive, accessible, and age-friendly environment for seniors across the region.

Developed in collaboration with 14 municipalities across Pontiac, the initiative is the result of several months of consultations with residents, community organizations, and local partners. The process helped identify key issues and establish concrete actions to improve the quality of life of seniors.

“Our seniors play an essential role in the vitality of our communities. This policy gives us the tools to better respond to their needs while continuing to build a more accessible, inclusive, and welcoming Pontiac for everyone,” said Jane Toller, Warden of the MRC Pontiac.

A MADA follow-up committee will also be established to support the implementation of the action plan over the coming years. The official unveiling of the MADA Policy and Action Plan is scheduled for November 3, with further details to be announced in mid-October.

In the meantime, the MRC team will present the initiative at various events across the region, including the Service Pathways – Accessibility Edition on October 14th at 11 a.m. at the Bryson RA.
