MRC Pontiac greenlights more than $400,000 in funding for local projects
At the MRC Pontiac council of mayors meeting on Wednesday (October 19), a resolution was passed approving funding from the second component of the Regions and Rurality fund (FRR), provided through the provincial ministry of municipal affairs and housing (MAMH).
Fifteen projects were received by the deadline of September 16, 2022, totaling $791,332.99, of which $585,039.34 was requested in grants. However, 13 projects were deemed eligible and 11 were selected for funding by the analysis committee.
Several mayors and the warden recused themselves from the approval vote after declaring conflicts of interest.
The funds were distributed as follows:

Bouffe Pontiac – Garde ta Bouffe Froide – $17,331.48
Campbell’s Bay Golden age Club – Accessibility Chair Lift – $4,876.00
Fort-Coulonge Golden age Club – Building Renovations – $14,181.55
Le Patro – Aquatic Project – $30,353.00
Pontiac Lions Club – Phase 1 Renovations – $35,072.40
Pontiac Community Players – Portable sound system – $11,541.65
Villa James Shaw – $32,800.00
Town of Bryson – Revitalization and beautification of living environments – $84,266.00
Municipality of Mansfield – Les grandes rencontres – Mansfield citizens in action, a population in movement – $13,285.64
Town of Otter Lake – Splash pad – $104,000.00
