MRC Pontiac allocates $10,000 in 2020 budget for joint promotional activities on the Ottawa River

6 December 2019 à 12:00 am

During the presentation of the MRC Pontiac’s 2020 budget, the Regional Council of Mayors resolved to allocate a budget of $10,000 for joint promotional activities related to the Ottawa River and to mandate a human resource to work with partners on this issue, under the condition that the County of Renfrew and City of Pembroke match this contribution. According to the Mayor of the City of Pembroke, Michael LeMay, their intentions are good but their 2020 budget will only be adopted in January.

A meeting was held on November 5 2019 between the MRC Pontiac and City of Pembroke, who acknowledged, according to the MRC Pontiac, a need for increased promotion of the attractions and services along the shared waterway. The MRC Pontiac also reiterated the need for collaboration as a way to ”avoid redundancies and help maximize the impact of promotional efforts.” More details on this will be available soon.

Considering a meeting on November 5 2019 during which the MRC Pontiac and City of Pembroke acknowledged a need for increased promotion of the attractions and services along our shared waterway.

Considering that working collaboratively will avoid redundancies and help maximize the impact of our promotional efforts.

It was therefore proposed by Regional Councillor Mr. Donald Gagnon and resolved to allocate a budget of $10,000 for joint promotional activities related to our shared waterway and to mandate a human resource to work with partners on this issue, with the understanding that the County of Renfrew and City of Pembroke would match this contribution.
