MRC Pontiac; a translator to answer complaints at the OQLF
Last night at the meeting of the mayors of the MRC Pontiac, an MRC employee had been put in to the new role of interpreter to be able to offer French-speaking citizens answers to any of their questions in their languages . In the future, the MRC Pontiac will have an interpreter during meetings of the regional council, which will ensure the translation between the French public attending the meetings who wish to have their questions answered in French. The strategic communications advisor for the MRC, Jérémi Vaillancourt, has been appointed this role. This change comes as a result of a complaint made with l’Office Québécois de la langue française (OQLF) by a citizen following a meeting of the MRC.
