MRC allocates funding for winter tourism shows on TVA Sports
At the MRC Pontiac council of mayors meeting on January 24, council voted in favour of two resolutions allocating up to $10,500 from the tourism budget to pay for episodes of two different tourism shows produced by TVA Sports.
MRC accountant Annie Vaillancourt explained that they were approached by TVA Sports to produce two episodes of the outdoor travel show Alexis le Randonneur in Pontiac to promote the region’s winter activities and businesses. Tourisme Outaouais will coordinate and manage the project, and the MRC Pontiac’s contribution will be up to $4,500, from the FRR component 2 portion of the 2024 tourism budget.
The second resolution was a similar offer from TVA Sports, but for one episode of Motoneiges.tv, a snowmobiling webseries, again with the goal of promoting the Pontiac’s winter tourism options. The project will be managed by an MRC economic development officer and the MRC allocated up to $6,000 for production from the 2024 tourism budget.
