A movie featuring scenes shot on the Félix-Gabriel-Marchand Bridge in Mansfield-et-Pontefract will be shown at the O’Brien Theatre in Renfrew this Friday (May 16).

“Not a Love Story” is directed by Brian Lutes and tells the tale of two best friends torn apart by tragedy as children in the 1970s and reunited 10 years later. Anna Mary Grattan, a producer on the film who grew up in Chapeau, explained that they had shot the scenes on the historic red covered bridge in the summer of 2024.

She said that Lutes shoots many of his films in the Ottawa valley, and said viewers might recognize some other regional landmarks in the movie, such as the King Burger in Pembroke (which was destroyed by a fire shortly after filming).

The movie will be screened at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door or by calling 613-281-1063.
