Motorist hit a Hydro pole in Fort-Coulonge: alcohol may be the cause
On December 30th at approximately 3am, an accident occurred in the heart of the municipality of Fort-Coulonge. The 25-year-old motorist, who was driving without a valid driver’s license or insurance, hit a Hydro pole on Baume Street. Alcohol could be a factor.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The passenger was unharmed in the accident. Officers said that the driver lost control of the vehicle resulting in the impact with the Hydro pole, the vehicle continued and struck another vehicle parked at a residence on Baume Street. The driver should be facing impaired driving charges as well as driving without a valid license and insurance.
The 25-year-old male is from Pontiac and, according to the Sûreté du Québec, currently lives in Waltham.
