Since the start of the pandemic, 30 employees from the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais have contracted COVID-19. The MRC Pontiac still observes 5 cases and less.

Analyses de tests de dépistages à Gatineau
Analyzes of COVID-19 screening tests are now performed in a laboratory that has been operational since April 21st at the Gatineau Hospital. According to the CISSS de l’Outaouais, it currently performs about ten analyzes per day, but the arrival of new equipment will shortly increase the laboratory’s capacity. Medical technologists are currently training on the new equipment.

Specimens that specialists are unable to analyze are sent to designated laboratories in the province to avoid delays in receiving results.

Seniors residences
The CISSS de l’Outaouais still says that the situation in seniors’ residences is closely monitored in the region. The CHSLD Lionel-Émond now has 2 new cases for a total of 11 residents with COVID-19. As for the CHSLD de la Petite-Nation, the situation is still stable with 7 positive cases. Note that these are the only two residences where there is currently an outbreak in the Outaouais.
