More than $ 800,000 for emergency services in remote areas
The four Outaouais MRC’s as well as the City of Gatineau will share $ 802,170, which has been allocated to the region for isolated emergency services, under the Financial Assistance Program to support the organization of emergency responses in areas without road access.
Eligible organizations will receive an amount to implement emergency services without road access and also to ensure the availability of rescue equipment required for emergency response in their region. That amounts to providing better protection for citizens in areas not accessible by the Quebec road by improving emergency preparedness and coordination of an emergency response.
