More than 160 CISSSO employees affected by COVID-19
A sign that the province is in the midst of a sixth wave, the number of employees of regional health authority CISSSO affected by COVID-19 hit a peak on April 6 at 182. It now stands at 167 today (April 7). Roughly two weeks ago, that number was less than 50.
PCR testing in the province has been drastically scaled back and the results of at-home rapid tests are self-reported, meaning that the number of officially reported cases in the general population is likely much lower than the number of cases in reality.
The number of hospitalizations has stayed relatively stable thus far, sitting at 15 today, with one of those in intensive care. An additional death was recorded this week, bringing the region’s total to 294.
