Moisson Outaouais Launches the Second Edition of Its “Réconfort en sac” Campaign

4 March 2026 à 2:03 pm

The regional food bank Moisson Outaouais is launching the second edition of “Réconfort en sac”, a project aimed at providing ready-to-prepare meals to vulnerable individuals across the Outaouais region. This initiative is made possible thanks to a generous $30,000 donation from the Ravenda family.

These simple, nutritious meals require no refrigeration or freezing, making distribution easier through Moisson Outaouais’ network of 51 affiliated organizations. Last year, the project received a very positive response from both the community and its beneficiaries.

This year, four soup recipes are being offered: L’Épicurienne, La Jardinière, La Rustique, and La Campagnarde, with additional new recipes planned throughout the year.

Moisson Outaouais aims to engage more partners and members of the community to expand the program and better meet the needs of vulnerable individuals. The meals will be distributed over the course of the year through the network of 51 affiliated organizations.

As a regional food bank, Moisson Outaouais collects, stores, processes, and distributes food to aid organizations in the Outaouais. Thanks to the generosity of donors and the dedication of volunteers, it plays a vital role in fighting food insecurity in the region.

Launched in the winter of 2025, Réconfort en sac was designed to meet a simple but essential need: providing a nourishing and accessible meal to people facing vulnerability. During the cold season, harsh temperatures amplify the challenges of food insecurity. A warm meal becomes especially important, offering not only sustenance but also warmth, energy, and comfort.
