Misunderstanding between the Municipality of Pontiac and the Pontiac Snowmobile Association

A misunderstanding between the Municipality of Pontiac and the Pontiac Snowmobile Association erupted on social media in recent days after the creation of a Facebook event by the Association, titled “Save The Snowmobile Link From Quyon To Wolf Lake At Council”. The Mayor of the Municipality of Pontiac, Joanne Labadie, summarizes the situation.

Although the Pontiac snowmobile association refused the request for an interview with CHIP 101.9, they did, however, issue their position on the municipal meeting via social media stating that the association will continue to work with the NCC, the Quebec Ministry of Transportation and the Quebec Federation of Snowmobile Clubs on the project to relocate the Curley Lake Trail. The members of the Association wish to have the collaboration of the municipal council, in order to preserve snowmobiling and the tourism associated with the practice in the region to support the regional economy.
