Earlier this month, Western Quebec School Board Director General Mike Dubeau announced that he would be retiring.

CHIP 101.9 spoke with Dubeau, who is originally from Otter-Lake, about his career in education and what he had planned for his retirement. He started out teaching in the Pontiac region at St. John’s Elementary in Campbell’s Bay, as well as the high school at the time, John Paul II. After a stint as principal at schools in Hull and Poltimore, an opening for vice-principal came up at Pontiac High School in Shawville and Dubeau jumped at the opportunity. He spoke fondly of his time in the office at PHS.

During the pandemic, Dubeau and his wife moved out of Aylmer and purchased a 250 acre farm in the Otter-Lake area, and he said was excited to move on to a new chapter in his life.

The full interview with Dubeau (17m55) is available here.
