Mike Dubeau address the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the Outaouais
In the most recent update with the Western Quebec School Board (WQSB), the director general, Mike Dubeau, addressed the rising number of cases in the Outaouais region and its effect on WQSB schools. According to Dubeau, the 11 outbreaks that have already been detected in five WQSB schools were a direct result of community transmission.
With experts across the province agreeing that the second wave of the Pandemic is started, Mike Dubeau said the WQSB had prepared the 2020-21 school year in accordance with the arrival of the second wave.
Stress has already took a toll on the staff, directors, parents and students since the start of the school year, the WQSB is doing all it can to adress the stress induced by the pandemic in schools, with examples such as mental health services.
Mike Dubeau once again wanted to reiterated to parents that they can call either the WQSB or their child’s school directly if they have any questions or concerns.
