Medical imaging: travel to Shawville or Maniwaki to save time

9 March 2018 à 12:00 am

An article titled “Loin des délais souhaités” published yesterday in the newspaper Le Droit, questioned the wait time for non-urgent medical imaging exams, which would be shorter at the hospitals in Shawville and Maniwaki than in other hospitals in the region. The CISSSO acknowledged that wait time have exceeded the desired amount, which could lead some people to go to Shawville or Maniwaki to save time, according to the article, by Justine Mercier.

Le Droit has obtained a document including a table that indicates the time taken for elective examination involving medical imaging in hospitals in the region. The statistics reveal that at Shawville and Maniwaki hospitals, wait times are less than one month for a non-priority medical imaging exam, compared to elsewhere in the Outaouais .
