Mayors discuss forest industry and possible floods
The mayors of the MRC Pontiac met Wednesday evening, in part by teleconference for the monthly meeting.
While much of the meeting surrounded COVID-19, the forest industry was also at the heart of the conversation, including support for the relaunch of the Davidson plant project.
The Warden of the MRC, Jane Toller, revealed that mayors are considering blocking roads if the Davidson plant does not obtain its desired wood supply guarantee.
Other discussions were focused on the flooding risks this year. According to Jane Toller, the mayors are already considering strategies to deal with the risk of flooding.
Also during this meeting, the mayors discussed the possible collaboration between municipalities in regards to COVID-19.
