Mathieu Lacombe highlights his work on Pontiac files
The Minister of Families and the Minister responsible for the Outaouais, Mathieu Lacombe, spoke with CHIP 101.9 earlier this week about his work with MRC Pontiac Warden Jane Toller to create daycare spaces in the region. Lacombe said that no projects had been submitted during the process that was launched in MRC Pontiac.
“The community had not sent us a project. So, obviously, that worried me a lot because I know, among other things, that we need this to attract people, especially nurses,” Lacombe said (translated). “I worked in particular with Jane Toller, I work very well with your warden. We call each other often. We worked together to ensure that he could have projects tabled. The good news is that yes, there are projects that have been submitted. So there will be a new facility in Shawville with 60 seats. There will be 6 new places in Mansfield and 5 in Campbell’s Bay.”
Lacombe repeated several times that he was in constant discussion with Toller concerning various economic projects. He mentioned that discussions were still taking place concerning forestry industry projects in the Pontiac and also mentioned that in his opinion, the “Energy from waste” project proposed by Toller was entirely credible and plausible.
