Martin Bertrand reached the highest peak in America on December 30th
A l’Île-du-Grand-Calumet resident and teacher at Sieur-de-Coulonge high School, Martin Bertand, reached the summit of the highest mountain in America, the Aconcagua, on December 30th. Bertrand had started his ascension of the legendary peak, located in South America, a few days prior and spoke to CHIP 101.9 during the experience.
CHIP 101,9 : This is quite a feat. How do you feel ?
Martin Bertrand : Burnt! I’m exhausted! After 14 hours to reach the summit, we must now take two days to descend, what I call a monster! We’re going to celebrate New Year’s Day aloft at the Plaza de Mulas base camp, 4,200 meters away. We will then return to Mendoza.
Martin Bertrand will be back in the Pontiac shortly and is expected to come to discuss his experience at CHIP 101.9 this week.
