22 March 2024 à 10:40 am

Le ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation (MAPAQ), in collaboration with the Abattoir des viandes du Pontiac, is warning the public not to consume ruminant stomachs that were sold recently, as they are unfit for human consumption.

The warning covers all of these products sold up until March 15, 2024. The product is sold in a transparent plastic bag.

“The operator is recalling the product in question. He agreed with MAPAQ to broadcast this warning as a precautionary measure,” a statement from the MAPAQ reads. “In addition, people who have this product in their possession are advised not to consume it. They must return it to the establishment where they purchased it or throw it away. Even if the affected product does not show signs of spoilage or suspicious odor, its consumption may represent a health risk. It should be noted that no cases of illness associated with the consumption of this food have been reported to the MAPAQ so far.”
