Mansfield Fire Department adds new truck
The Mansfield-et-Pontefract Fire Department have a new pickup truck in their fleet for hauling trailers and responding to medical calls, which was unveiled to the public on Saturday (March 15) .
Chief Patrick Bertrand said that the project has been in the works for several years, and involved funding from MRC Pontiac as well as local businesses and community groups to purchase the Ford F-250 for just over $125,000. He said the vehicle will be used to tow the department’s off-road rescue and boat trailers.
He said that the new truck would also replace the 15 year-old SUV they had been using to respond to roughly 90 medical calls annually. The department is also called on to assist with off-road and water rescues throughout the broader MRC Pontiac territory.
