Mansfield files a resolution against the map outlines of the new flood zone
CHIP 101.9 obtained a copy of the resolution that was tabled by the Municipality of Mansfield-et-Pontefract opposing the Governments’ outlining of the new special intervention zone (ZIS) for the municipality.
This resolution, adopted unanimously at the most recent municipal meeting, requires the government to consult with the municipal representatives in reviewing the outline of the ZIS map. The Mayor of the municipality of Mansfield Gilles Dionne.
The Mansfield Council reiterated its request for an independent inquiry into the circumstances that led to the spring floods in 2017 and 2019. They’re also asked the Quebec government to wait for the results of this survey before making any changes to the flood zones.
